The idea to harness the movement of water flowing downhill was first expounded by the Hellenistic Greeks who invented the water wheel and who were, along with the Romans, the first to use it for irrigation around 2nd century BC.
The Danube River meanders across Europe at an average 8 kms per hour, an ideal speed for GET to operate allowing the river to continue untouched leaving ample space for nature and man to live in harmony.
Water wheels were historically used for lifting water and for irrigation purposes. This technology exploded in the 18th century, when it was used to power all manner of sawmills, iron hammers, grinding mills, mechanical cogs and drainage systems. The migration from water wheels to modern turbines took about one hundred years and the Industrial Revolution led to decreased popularity of the water wheel.
Since 1882 electricity has been generated at central power stations which were economically practical. The first power plants were run on water power but today they rely mainly on coal, nuclear, natural gas and petroleum. All of these require massive infrastructure and large spending. They also come with serious disadvantages, namely pollution and the inescapable fact that we will soon run out of fossil fuels required.
GET’s unique design and concept overcomes the limitations and inefficiencies of hydro kinetic turbines. Modern radial turbines have been limited in tidal applications by their requirement for depth, generally more than 12 mts for significant output, but GET has the potential to work in shallow tidal channels. In addition it has the potential to produce power from any mass of moving water without dams, weirs or diversions. GET can work with nature instead of against it yet has the potential to produce commercial scale electricity.
In late 2014, following years of research and planning, inventor Nick Gardner built and tested a revolutionary and innovative hydro kinetic turbine prototype, GET, on a large river in Africa. Further tests were done on a smaller river in 2015 and these proved remarkable. Comprehensive investigations have revealed that no one else has developed or patented a similar type of hydro-turbine.

These figures are based on a 2 mt / sec river flow with a conservative 80% production per annum and revenue at US$0.07 per KWH.
Our market research shows we would have very little competition in the market place at start up. Radial and other hydro turbines cannot venture where GET can. Producing power only during sunlight hours and requiring vast tracks of land solar power, for example, is expensive and cannot compete, GET operates continuously. Practically GET has the potential to easily take over a significant market share in the renewable energy sector which is valued in billions.
